• My boyfriend didn’t tell me he wanted to date other women, he told me was dating another woman already and it was going on for MONTHS. He said he believed it was possible to like/love more than 1 person at a time and he didn’t want us to break up. Needless to say I told him off and it’s over but WTFFFF.
• Step 2: Admit defeat and cut your losses. If any other girl came to me with the same dilemma, I’d tell her the exact same thing dating expert Evan Marc Katz would say. He’s not that into you if he’s still looking at other women online. It’s not that he doesn’t want to keep spending time with you, it just means that he wants to keep.

You like him. You like him a lot, so much, in fact, that you'd love it if your relationship moved to a new, more intimate level.

But—and this is a big one—you don't know for sure if he feels the same way. And boy, will you feel like an idiot if you suggest the two of you start dating exclusively, only to find out he thinks of you as just a friend.

Oy.

So how do you know, without risking terminal embarrassment by asking, whether or not he likes you as much as you like him? Here are five ways to know for sure.

1. He initiates communication. Whether it's via the phone, e-mail, or texting, if he contacts you as much or more than you get in touch with him, I've got good news for you. He likes you! Guys, in general, are not super-communicators. My husband Alex, for instance, would rather clean the bathroom with his tongue than talk on the telephone—unless he really likes the person he's talking to. I should have known that he was interested in being more than just friends before we started dating. 90 percent of the time, he would call me.
2. He just happens to show up where you are. There's a huge difference between a guy who manages to coincidentally show up at a party or other event you've been invited to and a stalker. But if he almost always just happens to be nearby when you get out of class, or he's a co-worker you just happen to keep running into in the hall or the cafeteria, don't believe his protests of innocence. He is more than a little interested in you!
3. You catch him looking at you—a lot. If you're out on a date with someone, and you catch him looking at you or watching you when he thinks you won't notice, he is hooked. Guys who watch their date more than they watch the movie—especially if it's not a chick flick—are deeply in like, if not in love. His expression is important, too. Up until the day he died, my father-in-law looked at my mother-in-law as if he still couldn't quite believe she'd chosen him—and they were together for over 50 years.
4. He makes reasons to touch you. And I don't mean sexually. I mean casually-but-often. He puts his hand on your back to help guide you into the movie theater. He brushes a strand of hair out of your face. His foot just happens to touch yours under the table at a restaurant. He tells you that you have dirt on your nose when you know you don't. He rests his hand on your shoulder for no reason at all. Oh, boy. Does he ever like you!
5. His friends know all about you. If a guy introduces you to his friends, and they know all about you, what does this tell you? Especially if the friends are being friendly and polite? Well, it'd tell me that he's been talking about you to them—a lot. It's a guy rule: men don't usually talk about specific women with their friends unless a) they've been recently, badly dumped or b) they're very, very interested. Since you obviously haven't dumped him, he must like you!

If he claims that he can’t be in touch because he has no battery, he either needs a new iPhone or some new lies. You find him on a dating app. Obviously, if his profile is still active on a dating app, he’s probably still on it. It’s possible he forgot to delete it, but a lot of apps will tell you when a person was last active.

Men, even when they like someone, are often reluctant to make the first move and say so. So, if you like him, and you found yourself saying 'Yeah, he does that' to at least four of the above signs, I say go for it! Ask him out. Tell him you're very interested. If he's doing everything I listed above, he is a real sweetie. Grab him!

I like a guy but have no one to talk to and he's older than me (im a freshman in high school). I've already embarrassed myself in front of him before because he has talked to me before once because he asked me to a party but I said no for some reason (probably cause I only get like 3 hours of sleep) he rides my bus and we are the only ones at that bus stop so ya not really anyone else to talk to. Anyways I was taking so long so I just blurted no… And I immediately regretted it and he ran back to his seat. As soon as I got home I was yelling at myself ;-; My only friend that I was talking about told me he has a girlfriend so I don't really know about that. But also a few days ago I saw him with a girl with red hair that is sooooo pretty (he lives on another street so it was weird) and all they did was walk down the street then walk to his street cause at the end of my street ends. So I don't know about that either. The whole bus thing happened yesterday and I saw him looking at me at school today so thats why I'm really asking you all of this. I guess my question is do you think that I have a chance with him or another chance I guess? And if so I need to know because ive been in hard spots like this before but had no one to talk to. (And remember he is older than me like 1 or 2 years older)

Sorry to contradict you, but these are not signs that he likes you. People are all different. There's a guy who I've been out for coffee with a few times and he showed all these signs. I go to this Saturday school and there's this guy in my class that I really like. He would often glance at me and I would do the same. When I look at him, he always looks up and finds that I was staring at him and vice versa. Our eye contact would only last for a second and I would look away. Ok so I was working at on Halloween at a zombi shoot. One of the guys was flirting with me and I started to like him. I was sitting on a crate (5 feet off the ground)and he came up behind me and said that he wouldn't let me fall that made me blush and he saw it. After a while of him talking I took off my face mask he was worried that i was going to get hit so he put the face mask back on my face. He asked me what I like to do and I said sing and I sang him a song, he said it was good. Before the last group of people went though he gave me a hug and I swear my heart skipped a beat. I grabbed my stuff then left after I said goodbye. Before I walked out the door his mom called him by a different name then he told me. I was a little hurt that he lied but once I got into the car my mom told me that he said I had an amazing voice. I started working at company as an Associate Engineer in August 2011. A couple of weeks in, this guy moved into the office across from me. He was recently promoted to Director of Product Management. So as far as line of management goes, our most common manager is the Sr. Vice President. So technically he's not my manager. He's also 35 and I'm 25.

Now.. to the details. I never really officially met him. We started talking when he was passing out broken pieces of his plant to people in the office. He'd randomly come over to check on the plant and well, we ended up talking more and getting to know each other better. To be honest, I was a little intimidated by him at first. But after a while, I started noticing little things that him that were very sweet. I'd also catch him looking over randomly, even during meetings when other people were in his office.

In November, I gathered the nerves to ask him out on a date. He said he was flattered but it was probably a bad idea since we worked right across the hall from each other. I figured that's what his answer would be since he seemed VERY PROFESSIONAL, but I had to try. So I tried to leave it at that and got really busy with deadlines at work and school. In January, when we got back after break, he started acting a little differently. I'd be busy in my office and he would come in every morning and say hi before he went into his own office. He started initiating conversations all the time. He'd notice random things and make comments. One of my coworkers and I somehow end up matching very often. One day he actually noted the color of my earrings. We were joking about him joining the accessories club one day and I mentioned that he should get a pink shirt like the one his manager was wearing. Interestingly, he didn't know what the color of his manager's shirt was, but he knew the color of my earrings. He definitely flirts a lot more now. He's constantly pulling my leg. He'll tell me little details about what he's doing over the weekend or his plans for the evening, even without me asking. He SEEMS like he wants to say something, but he's not. I'm not sure if he's changing his mind or just enjoying flirting. But his strictly business attitude has dissipated a lot since last year. I really like this guy, but I can't just hang here with his flirting and not. I'm just digging a deeper hole for myself. What do you think would really help him decide if he wants to take the chance and actually go out on a date or just stop playing games?

Hey. I'm a freshman and he's a sophomore. We don't go to the same school, but we go to the same church. When we go on retreats and just plain things at church he follows me around and puts his arm around me. He doesn't do this to other girls. He sat next to me on the coach bus a few days ago on the way to and from camp tejas. He just randomly lays on my lap and starts like hold on to me. He compliments me everyday we see each other and I always catch him staring at me during church choir and cause he's a bass and I'm an alto he thinks those two mix perfectly. He also tells me random things like he knows my birthday and my favorite color and tells me that he hasn't had a gf for over two years. Does he like me more than a friend?

My parents met on a New York City subway. They rode the same line and saw each other a few times before one day my dad asked if the seat next to my mom was taken. Ten months later they were engaged and 31 years later they are happily married with two fabulous daughters 😏.

There is definitely more to the story, but there's also a few things that didn't happen during their courtship. My mom didn't screenshot texts from my dad to her bffs. My dad didn't show pictures from my mom's Instagram to his boys. They didn't collectively stalk each other's Facebook pages back to their creation. My mom did not wonder why my dad watched her Snapchat story, but didn't respond to her text.

It was a simpler time. My dad called my mom on a landline to set up dates. They would walk from Queens to Manhattan on foot just talking and exploring . The only people who knew what happened on those dates was them because it wasn't shared on social media. Their engagement had little fanfare and people found out through a phone call or by seeing them in person. There was no 'I said yes!' post and their wedding didn't have a hashtag.

In the good old days people missed phone calls all the time. They were at work. They were in the shower. They were unable to get to the phone in time. Someone may even have taken the message and forgotten to pass it along. While getting a hold of each other was probably frustrating at times, non-millennial couples definitely didn't face the drama millennials do in regards to phones.

I don't know how many times I've heard myself or someone else say, 'He still hasn't texted back which is crazy because I know he's always on his phone!'. This anxious feeling only worsens with each passing hour. Then finally we get, 'Sorry was :insert activity: and forgot to reply'. What?! We thought you were dead! 🙄

Another stark contract between millennials and our parents is how leery we are when it comes to settling down. My parents knew each other less than one year before they got engaged and I've been with my boyfriend on and off for five years. See the difference?

The median age for millenials' first marriage is 27 for women and 29 for men. I'm 27 and four years older than my mom was when she got married. I'm also two years older than she was when she had me and one year younger than she was when she had my younger sister. I'd feel strange if I was alone, but only one of my close friends is engaged. None are married.

Is it a fear of commitment? Is it because we are much more focused on our careers than our parents were? Are our standards for Mr. or Mrs. Right just too high? Is it financially driven? The answer is unclear.

I can't speak for all millenials, but I do want to get married. I'm also paying off a a mountain of student loan debt and not exactly where I need to be career wise. If my boyfriend asked me today I'd say yes, but in the back of mind I'd think how are we going to pay for all of this? What about next steps like buying property and having children? Can we afford that yet?

I know that takes the romantic aspect out of it, but I started college during a recession so for me the sky is always falling. I also know that marriage doesn't mean the house and 2.5 kids need to come right after, but I want them to. So why rush into it?

You're probably asking what brought on this millennial rant? Well, it's a segue into a series I'll be launching about millenial love stories. We may not be getting married as young. We may not meeting be meeting the way our parents did. We may have a some tech/social media drama. We are finding love though! I woud like to explore that.

Here's the semi-brief version of my millennial 'love story'...

I met my boyfriend at his fraternity's house party. I was sitting on a couch and he was standing in front of me. Our versions differ, but he claims I grabbed his hand. I dispute this. Regardless of what happened, we got to talking and exchanged numbers.

We met in February. Two months go by, he still hadn't texted me. Even though, every time I saw him at a party or the bar he asked when we're hanging out. Then one day at the bar during the end of March Madness (beginning of April), he asked me again. I started telling him never because he is never going to ask, but he interrupted me by kissing me. From that moment on we were inseparable.

We even made it work when the relationship shifted to being long distance. After two years of making it work, he called me and told me he couldn't do it anymore. I hated him for it, but he was right. It wasn't fun anymore.We did the whole text/call each other even though we're not together anymore thing for a few months before finally cutting the cord completely.

A year goes by and I see one of his friends post on his Facebook wall about them becoming roommates in the city. I tell myself, you're not going to text him! You're finally 'over' him. It's over. One night a couple months later after one too many adult beverages I texted him, 'Hey what's up?'

When he hadn't responded in the morning I started to thoroughly regretting my life choices, but then he replied and immediately informed me that he had moved to the city. In true form, it took us a little while to meet up. We finally did though and have been back together for the last two years.

He teases me mercilessly, tells me like it is, and annoys me like it's a second job. He is also my best friend. Can't imagine a life without the guy.
